A FRESH CHAPTER
IN A WELL-LOVED STORY.

For more than a decade, Reevestock Music Festival brought folks together at one of Elkin’s best-kept secrets—a wooded amphitheater tucked away on a residential property off North Bridge Street. Founded by Sam Tayloe, lead singer of Time Sawyer, the festival first came to life on his uncle’s land as a grassroots effort to celebrate live music, support the arts, and uplift the town that shaped them.

What started in a backyard grew into one of the most anticipated weekends of the year.

That spirit isn’t going anywhere—it’s just got a new name and a little more room to dance.

Milltown Get Down carries forward the heart of Reevestock, this time with its boots planted right in the middle of downtown Elkin. The new name tips a hat to the town’s legacy as a textile powerhouse—home to Chatham Manufacturing, once one of the largest blanket producers in the world. Elkin’s mill-town spirit is stitched into its streets, stitched into its people, and stitched into this festival.

Same vibe, same mission: bring great music to a great town and give back to the place that raised us.

Now, we’re spilling out into Downtown and inviting even more folks to get down with us—because music belongs in the middle of everything.

FAQ

What time do the gates open?
Gates open at 11AM, with live music starting at 12PM. Come early to grab your spot, a bite to eat, and your first drink.

Is this a family friendly event?
Absolutely. Kids 12 and under get in free, and we’ll have some fun yard games and open space for them to dance their hearts out.

Can I bring my own chair or blanket? Canopies?
Low-back chairs or picnic blankets are welcomed! But to keep sightlines clear and the space comfortable for everyone,.. personal tents, canopies, or large umbrellas are not allowed.

Will there be food and drinks?
Definitely. We’ll have food trucks and craft beer from area breweries—plus non-alcoholic options for the kids and DDs. Downtown Elkin is a social district as well so you can always sneak away to enjoy some drinks and food from one of our downtown businesses!

Can I bring my own cooler?

We’ll have plenty of great local brews and beverages available inside! No need to bring a cooler! If you do have dietary restrictions, please contact us to give us a heads up!

What's parking like?
General Admission and VIP tickets include free parking and shuttle service. VIP tickets also include designated parking right beside the festival grounds for added convenience. There will also be shuttles from most of the parking lots. Look for signage or check our map closer to the event. Pro tip: carpool if you can.

Is the festival handicap accessible?

Yes, the festival and all music locations are handicapped accessible. If you need assistance or have specific accessibility questions, feel free to contact us ahead of time—we're happy to help!

Are pets allowed?
As much as we love dogs, we recommend leaving them at home for this one. It can get loud and crowded, and we want everyone—furry friends included—to stay safe and stress-free.

What if it rains?
Milltown Get Down is rain or shine! Come prepared for whatever the weather brings. (Ponchos and dancing in the rain encouraged.)

How do i get tickets? Are Ticket Sales Final?
Tickets will be available online in advance and at the gate. Buying early gives you the chance to save!

All ticket sales are final. This is standard for festivals, as it helps us plan accurately, maintain safe capacity, and prevent ticket fraud or inflated resale. Tickets are non-transferable to help protect against counterfeiting. In the unlikely event the festival is canceled, ticket holders will be issued a full refund.

Will there be an ATM?
We will accept cards at the gate for tickets. Many vendors will also accept cards, but some may be cash only. The nearest ATM is about a 4-minute walk, so we recommend bringing a little cash just in case!

Is re-entry allowed?
Yes! You’ll get a wristband at the gate, so feel free to pop out and support downtown businesses, then come back and keep the party going.

Where can i stay?
Elkin’s got great lodging—from boutique hotels, RV parks, cabins, and more. Check out ExploreElkin.com/stay for options!
